Meeting tools / Before you join

Your meeting readiness check.

A little preparation makes a big difference. Check your sound, picture, and surroundings before your next call.

Make your next entrance a good one.

Start either device test. Keep the page open while checking; switching tabs stops device access.

01 / Microphone

Speak naturally.

Say: “This is my meeting microphone. One, two, three.” Look for a moving level, then listen to a sample in the microphone recorder if you want to hear the result.

Microphone is off. No access requested.

Signal check
Not tested

The meter shows a digital signal, not room loudness. Sound detected can include background noise. It is not proof that your voice is clear.

02 / Camera

Find your frame.

Camera is off. No access requested.

Frame brightness

Preview is mirrored. Brightness is an estimate across the whole image, not an assessment of your face or skin tone. Check how you actually look in the preview.

Access stops when you leave or hide this page, and automatically after five minutes. Completed observations stay in this tab until you reset or leave.

The human part of the check.

The browser can detect a signal. You decide whether your setup is right for this meeting.

03 / Speakers or headphones

Can you hear this?

Set your volume low first. This plays a short, gentle tone through your current browser output device.

No sound is playing.

If nothing plays, check the tab’s mute setting and your system’s selected output. This does not switch your meeting app’s speakers.

Your pre-meeting checklist

A clear handoff.

0 of 7 checks completed.

This is a checklist, not a network test or quality certification. Browser processing, meeting app settings, and connection conditions can differ.

Find my mute shortcut ↗

Your report contains checklist results only, with no audio or images.

A few helpful answers.

Why do the devices work here but not in my meeting?

Applications can select different devices and have separate permissions. Stop these tests, open your meeting app’s audio and video settings, and select the same hardware. Check operating system permissions too. Some devices can only be opened by one app at a time.

What should I do if my microphone level does not move?

Check the hardware mute switch, reconnect the microphone, select the correct input, and check your system input volume. If access was blocked, use the browser’s site settings to allow microphone access, then try again.

Does this check my internet speed or meeting latency?

No. These tests stay local to your browser and do not connect to a meeting server. A speed test alone also cannot guarantee a good meeting. Use your meeting app’s diagnostics when investigating dropped audio, frozen video, or connection warnings.

What does frame brightness tell me?

It is an approximate average of the camera image on a scale from 0 to 100. A bright background can raise it even when your face is dark. Use the preview to adjust your light and camera position; there is no universal target value.
