MuteMe LLC (“MuteMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the muteme.com website, related pages, desktop applications for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and associated software download/update services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your rights.
1) Quick Summary
- We collect information you provide (orders/support), website usage data (cookies/analytics), and app diagnostic data (including crash reports).
- We use this information to fulfill orders, provide support, operate and secure the Services, and improve performance.
- We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising/analytics activities may be considered “sharing” under California law.

A. Information You Provide
- Identifiers and contact details (name, email address, phone number)
- Shipping and billing address
- Order details (items purchased, order number, returns/exchanges)
- Customer support communications and attachments you choose to provide
- Enterprise payment details needed to complete payment (e.g., invoice references for check/wire), when applicable
B. E-Commerce and Payment Processing
Orders placed on muteme.com are processed through Shopify. Payment methods may include Shopify Payments and supported third-party methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay, and Amazon Pay. Some enterprise customers may pay via PayPal, check, or wire transfer.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.

D. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies
We use Shopify’s built-in cookie tools and may use cookies/pixels/SDKs from providers such as Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Pixel, and Klaviyo. These technologies help us understand site traffic, improve performance, measure marketing effectiveness, and deliver advertising.
E. Desktop App & Diagnostic Data
When you use our desktop applications, we collect diagnostic and technical data to operate, secure, and improve the software. This may include:
- IP address
- Operating system username
- Local file paths related to the application
- Hardware identifiers
- Device model/type
- Application version, operating system version
- Application logs and timestamps
Crash reports are sent automatically to help maintain stability and security. Full memory dumps are not collected. You may be able to opt out of certain diagnostics in settings; however, some crash reporting may still occur for stability and security purposes.
We do not collect microphone audio, meeting content, or recordings from conferencing platforms.
F. Downloads and Updates
We deliver software downloads and updates using AWS and our own servers. We may log IP address, timestamps, and download activity for security, fraud prevention, and performance monitoring.
G. Customer Support Systems
We use customer support tools (currently including Reamaze) to manage customer communications. Support communications may be retained long-term for warranty support, service continuity, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping. Our tools and vendors may change over time.
3) How We Use Your Information

- Cookies: manage cookies through your browser settings and Shopify’s cookie tools where available.
- Ad choices: you may also use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
7) Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes such as recordkeeping, warranties, fraud prevention, and compliance with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Support communications may be retained long-term. Diagnostic logs are retained as needed for operational and security purposes.
8) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel with a business need, and key systems are protected with controls such as two-factor authentication. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
9) Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, and we may not respond to them in all cases.
10) International Users
Our Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11) Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults and workplace use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
