Yes, MuteMe works with all types of microphones as long as they connect to your computer. This includes USB mics, wired headsets, and Bluetooth devices like AirPods. We recommend downloading the MuteMe app and giving it a try with your setup before purchasing the hardware. You can download the app at muteme.com/pages/downloads.

Yes, MuteMe supports Push-to-talk. In addition, users have the options to:

1) set the color of when they not in a conference call (ie, MuteMe detects when a conference application is launched). Use Case: others in your household will know when you are engaged in a meeting.

2) set the color for mute

3) set the color for unmute

4) select Toggle, push-to-talk mode, or push-to-mute mode.

There are 8 color options (including LED off)

MuteMe requires a downloadable MuteMe software application which allows you to pick and choose your preferences (like colors, etc). You typically do not need administrative permission to use the MuteMe Application and Device, although each company policy can vary. If you can install local applications, like Zoom, you should have no problem downloading MuteMe's software. Our device is a HID device so no drivers are installed.

In Zoom, if MuteMe only controls the mute/unmute status while the whole button bar at the bottom in zoom is showing, then your microphone/settings may need adjusting.

First please make sure that in our application in the "App Sync Settings" section that the Zoom sync level is set to either level 2 or 3.

Language Settings: Zoom works best in English (multi-language support coming soon). Right click on Zoom icon in icon tray < switch languages < English.

Zoom Default Microphone: Ensure the correct default microphone is selected.

Zoom Settings for Windows/Linux:
- go to Settings < General < select 'Always show meeting controls'
- go to Keyboard Shortcuts < select 'Restore Default' on bottom right
- go to Keyboard Shortcuts < select box to Enable Global Shortcut for 'Change Focus to Zoom Meeting Controls'
- go to Keyboard Shortcuts < select box to Enable Global Shortcut for 'Mute/Unmute My Audio'

Zoom Settings for macOS:
- go to Settings < General < select 'Always show meeting controls'
- go to Keyboard Shortcuts < select 'Restore Default' on bottom right

Integrating MuteMe (version 0.20.0+) with The "New" Microsoft Teams is fairly easy. Our integration with Microsoft Teams is different than the integration with other platforms as we rely on the API exposed by Microsoft and not Windows and/or MacOS automation. This means that users have to perform an additional step for the integration to work and this integration is only available on paid plans from Microsoft.  When configured you should experience a seamless interactions between MuteMe and Microsoft Teams. This guide is here to assist you in configuring your application correctly to enjoy uninterrupted control over your mute/unmute status during your virtual meetings.

To ensure you have the best experience using MuteMe, be sure your setup is as intended. Our team is constantly working on bugs and ways to improve the user experience.

- Ensure the latest OS version is installed. MuteMe's works with Windows 10/11 and macOS (Catalina 10.15 or newer)

- Ensure the right Sync Level is selected (i.e. Level 1, 2 or 3 sync) in the MuteMe app.

- Ensure Sync Levels for video conferencing apps not in use are set to Level 1

- Ensure the video conferencing app is in English. Multi-Language support coming soon

- Ensure the USB data cable is being used (i.e the one we provided)

- Ensure the MuteMe device is connected directly to the computer (if having issues)

- Ensure the correct default microphone is selected in the video conferencing app

- Ensure the latest firmware version is installed (if having issues with the old one)

- Ensure the latest software version is installed (update alert on bottom right of MuteMe app)

In order to better communicate how MuteMe will work with the various video conferencing applications that you use, we came up with Sync Levels.

Sync Levels explain how we work with video conference applications like Zoom or Teams. Each level represents a different amount of Sync.

Level 1: Microphone Sync
Our tech allows the system's default microphone to stay in sync with MuteMe. At this level, the mute/unmute button in the conferencing app won't change when your MuteMe status changes. Use this setting when you want to mute but don't want others to know you are muted.

Level 2: Mute/Unmute Button Sync
The system’s default microphone and the mute/unmute button in the conferencing app stays in sync with MuteMe.  At this level, MuteMe won't be able to see when you change your mute status from the conferencing app. Use this setting when you only want to use MuteMe to control your mute status but don't want others to be able to unmute you.

Level 3: Full Sync
The system’s default microphone and the mute/unmute button in the conferencing app are fully in sync with MuteMe.  At this level, MuteMe will detect when you change your mute status from the conferencing app. Use this setting when you still want to use the mute/unmute button in the conferencing app alongside MuteMe.

Looks like your computer may have conflicting applications sending microphone commands at the same time. We recommend:

1) close applications you are no longer using (ex: you may have both Zoom and Teams active)

2) turn off microphone polling. Do this by going to microphone settings, selecting the microphone, and unchecking "Periodically check if this microphone was muted/unmuted"

3) There could be a issue with EMI or electromagnetic interference, click here to learn more and update your firmware.

MuteMe can indicate mute/unmute status change through sound. It beeps one time when going to mute, and twice when going to unmute.

MuteMe and Mütesync devices connect to your computer via USB. MuteMe has a USB-C port and comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, while MuteMe Mini is available in either USB-A or USB-C versions. MuteMe is a USB HID device that does not require drivers but does require the MuteMe software. Mütesync connects via USB-C and requires both drivers and the MuteMe software. MuteMe is not currently compatible with iPhones, iPads, or Android devices. It is designed to work with Windows and macOS computers. While we offer limited support for Linux, our primary focus is ensuring a seamless experience on PC and Mac systems.

Yes, with MuteMe software version 0.24.8 or higher, you can use up to 8 devices at the same time. You can mix and match MuteMe Minis and Regulars in one setup. If you're using just two devices, no firmware update is needed. For more than two, firmware-upgraded devices or a preconfigured pack is required.
