Home Web Based MuteMe Testing Tool

This page is for users that want to test their MuteMe Device, it is designed to allow modern desktop browsers to connect to the device and perform tests, and put the device into bootloader mode.  This tool can only be used with Chrome and Edge from desktop computers like macOS, and Windows.

Why Use This Tool?

This tool is designed to help you interact with and troubleshoot your MuteMe devices. Whether you're experiencing issues with the software or simply want to test the functionality of your device, this tool provides a straightforward way to control your device's color, enter bootloader mode, or restart the device. It's an invaluable resource for ensuring your MuteMe device is functioning correctly.

Firmware Updates

If you need to update your MuteMe device's firmware, this tool can assist by placing the device in bootloader mode. Once in bootloader mode, you can update the firmware without having to install our software. This is particularly useful If you had issues with firmware updates on a different computer and do not want to install software on a different machine.

Browser Requirements and Limitations

This tool relies on the WebHID API, which allows your desktop browser to communicate directly with HID (Human Interface Device) devices like MuteMe. Currently, this tool has been tested and is fully supported on Google Chrome. While other modern browsers may also support WebHID, we recommend using Chrome to ensure the best experience.

Browser Requirements:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Microsoft Edge (limited support)
  • Other Chromium-based browsers (may work but not tested)

Please ensure your browser is up to date to avoid any compatibility issues.


How to use the tool

The tool is simple and easy to use, but because this is just a testing tool, it does not have any of the advanced features from our Application. Its just a simple tool for quick testing, or to put the device into bootloader mode.


Instructions:

  • Connect to Device: Click the "Connect to Device" button to establish a connection with your MuteMe device.
  • Test LEDs: Once connected, click "Test LEDs" to cycle through the LED colors on your device.
  • Enter Bootloader: To update your device's firmware, click "Enter Bootloader" to switch the device to bootloader mode. The device will disconnect and appear as a USB flash drive.
  • Status Indicator: The status line below the buttons provides real-time feedback on your actions and the current status of the device.


Quit the regular MuteMe App prior to using the tool below. Running both may prevent one or the other from connecting to the device.
