MuteMe · Setup & support

Keep Discord and MuteMe in sync.

Choose the same microphone, enable Discord’s desktop integration, then check mute control from both sides before your next call.

Start with the microphone you use

  1. Check Discord’s input

In Discord, open User Settings using the cogwheel, then Voice & Video → Input Device. Choose your microphone. If you use Default, check that your computer’s default input is the one you want.

  2. Match it in MuteMe

In MuteMe’s microphone settings, find the same input under Connected Microphones and enable Control this microphone with MuteMe. MuteMe is the controller; choose your headset, computer microphone or other audio input in Discord.

Enable Discord sync

  1. Open App Sync Settings

In MuteMe, open App Sync Settings. If Discord is missing from the enabled integrations, choose Modify next to Enabled App Integrations and enable it.

  2. Choose Full Sync

Select Discord and set Sync Level to Level 3 — Full Sync. This mode is intended to keep MuteMe and the meeting app’s mute button in sync in both directions. Level 2 sends changes from MuteMe but does not track changes made with the app’s own mute button.

  3. Follow any macOS permission prompt

If MuteMe shows macOS Permissions Needed, choose Grant Permissions and follow the Accessibility instructions. Allow MuteMe to restart after new Accessibility access is granted. For a previously declined permission, use the macOS permissions guide.

Make a quick test call

Join a private call with someone who can confirm whether they hear you. Mute and unmute with MuteMe, then use Discord’s own mute button. Check the audio and the mute indicators in both directions.

Try your normal window arrangement too. If the indicators disagree, recheck the selected microphone, Sync Level and any macOS permission prompt before relying on the setup.
