The update process

Three steps.
One ready device.

For MuteMe Original batch 004 and later, and Mini. Match your device to one of the files listed below before you begin.

  1. Match your hardware.

    Check the batch number on the bottom of your MuteMe. For Mini batches 1 and 2, also check whether you have USB-A or USB-C. Choose the matching firmware below.

  2. Enter update mode.

    In the MuteMe app, open Settings → Tools, click the firmware update button and accept the prompt to enter bootloader mode. Your device appears as MuteMeBoot.

  3. Save directly to the device.

    Right-click the matching firmware link and choose “Save Link As.” Save the file directly to the MuteMeBoot USB device. Avoid saving to your computer first to prevent corruption, especially on macOS.

MuteMeBoot is for firmware only. It is not a real USB drive. Do not save any other files to it. Entered update mode by accident? If you don't need to update, simply unplug and re-plug your device to continue using it.

Match the batch number on the bottom of your device. Each card contains the two firmware options for that batch.

Firmware library / Mini

Small device.
Exact match.

For MuteMe Mini batches 1 & 2. Match the physical USB connector on your device to the card below.

An alternative to the app

Your browser.
Your update tool.

Put your MuteMe into bootloader mode without installing our software. Useful on another computer, or if you are having trouble with the standard process.

Desktop Chrome or Edge only. This tool prepares the device for an update; you still need to save the correct firmware file to MuteMeBoot.

Close the MuteMe app first. Running both at the same time may prevent one or both from connecting to your device.
