Device Firmware Updates

This page helps you update the firmware on your MuteMe device (Batch 004 and later). For older devices (Batch 001-003), please refer to the legacy update procedures for macOS or Windows.

Note: We update this page when new firmware becomes available. If you clicked the firmware update button by accident and don't need to update, simply unplug and re-plug your device to continue using it.

Firmware Update Procedure

Follow these steps if you need to update firmware, recover from incorrect firmware, or reset your device:

Step 1: Enter Bootloader Mode

Open the MuteMe application, go to Settings → Tools, and click the firmware update button. Accept the prompt to put your device into bootloader mode. Alternatively, use the bootloader tool below if you don't want to install our software.

Step 2: Download and Install Firmware

Right-click the appropriate firmware file below (check the batch number on the bottom of your device), select "Save Link As," and copy the file directly to the MuteMeBoot USB device that appears. Avoid saving the file to your computer first to prevent corruption, especially on macOS.

Important: Do not attempt to save any other files on the MuteMeBoot USB device. It is not a real USB drive—it's solely for firmware updates.

USB Speed Options

Our devices support both high-speed and low-speed USB firmware. High-speed USB is recommended for most users and provides tested, reliable performance. Low-speed USB is available for situations requiring longer cable runs, extended hubs, or daisy-chained setups. Choose the option that best fits your setup.

Alternative Bootloader Tool

This tool provides an alternative way to put your MuteMe device into bootloader mode without installing our software. It only works in Chrome and Edge browsers on desktop. Use this if you need to update firmware on a different computer or are experiencing issues with the standard process.

Important: Close the MuteMe application before using this tool. Running both at the same time may prevent one or both from connecting to your device.
