Device Firmware Updates
This page assists you in updating the firmware on your device, applicable to Batch 004 and later devices. For Batch 001 - 003, please refer to the update procedures for macOS or Windows.
We will update this page when new firmware becomes available. If you do not wish to update the firmware on your device and you clicked the "firmware update" button in the application and landed on this page, please unplug and re-plug the device to use it again.
Firmware Update Procedure (Batch 004 + Devices)
If you accidentally deleted firmware, loaded incorrect firmware, or need to reset the firmware on your device, or wish to load new firmware follow these instructions:
Step 1: Open our application, navigate to the diagnostic tools section, and find the firmware update button. Click it and accept the prompt. Only do this if necessary. We do not endorse firmware updates without a clear purpose or necessity. You can also use the bootloader tool below to put the device into bootloader mode.
Step 2: Right-click on the file for your device below (batch numbers are on the bottom of the device for regular devices), select "save link as," and copy the file directly to the MuteMeBoot USB device that has appeared. Avoid saving the files on your computer to prevent corruption, especially on macOS.
Do not attempt to save any other files on the MuteMeBoot USB device. It is not a real USB drive; it's solely for firmware updates.
USB Speed Options
Our device, initially designed as a high-speed device, now offers the option for low-speed USB to accommodate longer cable setups or extended or daisy chained hubs. While low-speed USB supports extended cable lengths, high-speed USB remains the tested and reliable choice and is what we recommend. Whether you prefer the flexibility of low-speed USB or the proven performance, and reliability of high-speed USB, both options are made available so you can tailor to your specific needs. Additional Bootloader Method
This tool provides an alternative method to put your MuteMe device into bootloader mode without installing our software. Please note that it only works on Chrome and Edge on desktop. If you are experiencing issues with the standard firmware update process, or need to put your device into bootloader mode on a different computer, you can use this tool below.
Quit the regular MuteMe App prior to using the tool below. Running both may prevent one or the other from connecting to the device.
