About Apple Silicon & Rosetta
In 2020, Apple announced the transition from Intel processors to Apple silicon in Mac computers. To ease this transition, Apple created Rosetta 2—technology that automatically translates Intel-based apps for use with Apple silicon.
Check Your MuteMe Version
To check if you're using the Intel or Apple Silicon version of MuteMe:
Identifying Your MuteMe Version
- In Finder, navigate to your Applications folder
- Click on the MuteMe app to select it
- Press Command + I (or right-click and select Get Info)
- Look for the Kind field in the Info window:
Get the Apple Silicon Version
If you see Application (Intel) for MuteMe, we recommend downloading our native Apple Silicon version for:
- Better performance — Native apps run faster on Apple silicon
- Future compatibility — No reliance on Rosetta as it gets deprecated
