MuteMe

Full Disk Access macOS

Firmware updates need access to the device’s removable volume. Start with the specific access request; Full Disk Access is a broader troubleshooting option, not a general MuteMe requirement.

Check the device and permission first

Follow the correct firmware path for your device. When the app asks to access a removable volume, choose Allow if you intend to perform the update. In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files & Folders, review MuteMe’s available file/volume permissions.

Also check the direct USB connection and whether your organization permits removable storage. A missing bootloader drive or blocked USB policy is not automatically a Full Disk Access problem.

If support directs you to Full Disk Access

  1. Open the relevant macOS panel

In current macOS, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access. Older versions use System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy. Authenticate when macOS asks.

  2. Select the installed app

Enable MuteMe, or use the Add button to select it from Applications if needed. Quit and reopen the app before retrying the firmware process.

  3. Retest the specific task

If access is still blocked, note the exact message and whether the bootloader volume appears. On a managed computer, ask IT to review the storage policy. Full Disk Access cannot be assumed to override an organization’s USB restrictions.

For normal meeting sync

You do not need Full Disk Access merely to follow MuteMe’s meeting-app setup. For Accessibility or System Events requests, use the separate macOS permissions guide.
