Give MuteMe the access it needs.

1. Enable the feature you want to use

   Configure your meeting integration in App Sync Settings or enable the MuteMe+ action you need. MuteMe checks for required permissions shortly after starting and when relevant features are enabled. A prompt appears only when required access is missing.

2. Choose Grant Permissions

   When macOS Permissions Needed appears, choose Grant Permissions. Follow the listed Accessibility step first, if shown. If the enabled feature also requires Automation — System Events, follow that request next. Not Now defers setup; the affected feature may not work until access is granted.

3. Allow the restart when requested

   After new Accessibility access is granted, MuteMe restarts automatically to apply it. An Automation-only grant can complete without a restart. Reopen your meeting and check mute control after setup finishes.

1. Open the macOS permission panel

   If access was declined or the prompt cannot finish, open Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

2. Allow the MuteMe app

   Enable MuteMe in the list. Older installations may show MuteMe-Client. If it is missing, use the Add button to select the installed MuteMe application. Approve any macOS authentication request, then return to MuteMe and let its permission flow finish.

Some MuteMe+ actions use System Events, such as certain keyboard shortcuts, screenshots or custom scripts. For these actions, MuteMe may request permission to control System Events. Allow that request if you intend to use the feature.

If you previously declined it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation and review MuteMe’s requested access to System Events. Grant the named access; there is no need to select every app or service in the list.

If System Events is not listed, return to the enabled feature and MuteMe’s permission prompt so it can make the request. Accessibility for a supported meeting app does not automatically mean System Events Automation is also required.

• Microphone: your calling app or browser needs permission to capture audio. Check its entry if people cannot hear you even when both mute controls are off.
• Camera and Screen Recording: follow the calling app’s requests when you use video or screen sharing. These are not blanket requirements for MuteMe mute synchronization.
• Full Disk Access and removable volumes: these are not general meeting-sync setup steps. Follow the separate instructions for a specific maintenance or firmware task if it requires them.

Check that you enabled the installed copy of MuteMe and completed the restart after Accessibility access changed. Return to App Sync Settings and test the intended integration in a private call.

On a managed Mac, your organization may control privacy permissions. If a switch is unavailable or a policy prevents the grant, ask your IT administrator to review the requested permission instead of changing unrelated settings.
