Bring MuteMe to FaceTime on Mac.

Open FaceTime on your Mac. In the Video menu, select your microphone or Use System Setting. If you use the system setting, confirm your Mac’s default input is the one you intend to use.

In MuteMe, find that same input under Connected Microphones and enable Control this microphone with MuteMe. Select your actual audio input in FaceTime, not MuteMe as a replacement microphone.

1. Open App Sync Settings

   In MuteMe, open App Sync Settings. If FaceTime is missing from the enabled integrations, choose Modify next to Enabled App Integrations and enable it.

2. Choose Full Sync

   Select FaceTime and set Sync Level to Level 3 — Full Sync. This mode is intended to keep MuteMe and the meeting app’s mute button in sync in both directions. Level 2 sends changes from MuteMe but does not track changes made with the app’s own mute button.

3. Follow any macOS permission prompt

   If MuteMe shows macOS Permissions Needed, choose Grant Permissions and follow the Accessibility instructions. Allow MuteMe to restart after new Accessibility access is granted. For a previously declined permission, use the macOS permissions guide.

Make a private FaceTime call. Mute and unmute with MuteMe, then change the mute state in FaceTime. Confirm both indicators and ask the other person to verify the audio.

If the state does not follow in both directions, check the selected input, Level 3 setting and Accessibility access. This guide covers FaceTime on macOS; joining a FaceTime link in a Windows browser does not provide this desktop integration.
