MuteMe

Device Preferences

Device Preferences controls firmware-update notices and whether MuteMe restarts the device after your computer wakes.

Firmware Updates

Open Tools and find Device Preferences. The Firmware Updates switch controls the app’s check/notification behavior for device firmware. It is not the automatic app-download preference.

The automatic device check runs when exactly one device is connected. If you have several devices, follow the appropriate firmware instructions and update the intended device individually. A notice is not permission to use firmware meant for a different model or batch.

Automatic Device Restart

Automatic Device Restart requests a device restart when the computer resumes from sleep. It can help restore communication in a setup that needs it, but it is not a promise to reset the device after every error or every firmware update.

Change one preference at a time, test a sleep/wake cycle and confirm the device reconnects. If it does not, report the device model, connection/hub and operating system rather than repeatedly flashing firmware.
